This 5-session webinar series is designed as an introduction for executives, financial and operations managers within a lean company on how to use the lean accounting box score to measure and manage lean operations and how use is to make business decisions aligned with the lean strategy.
Each session has specific learning objectives:
- Using Lean Performance Measurements – learn the steps to create a linkage chart that integrates your lean strategy with organizational actions. Learn how to control processes to achieve the desired results; how to measure the impact of continuous improvement; and how to integrate your performance measurements with visual performance boards. Learn how to apply manager standard work to continuous improvement at all organizational levels.
- Using the Value Stream Income Statement – learn how to integrate lean problem solving techniques with the value stream income statement and drive real cost improvement.
- Using Value Stream Capacity – learn the steps to calculate current state and future state value stream capacity and use this information to identify the financial benefits of lean improvement.
- Lean Business Decision Making – using real examples, learn the specific process steps of using the box score components in business decision making for:
Measuring the impact of using available capacity
Capital purchases
Financial impact of new product introduction
Outsourcing
Product rationalization
Profitability of additional demand
At the conclusion of this series, your “take away” activities will be to use your model box score (created in Webinar Series 1) to demonstrate how the box score will be used in your business to:
- Build a value stream performance board and conduct weekly box score meetings which will demonstrate how continuous improvement is managed in a lean company.
- Practice using the lean decision making process on real decisions affecting your value stream.
- Present the benefits of using the box score to your management team.
- Get approval for implementing lean accounting in 6 months.
